The COO / Compliance Manager is therefore required to be an ambitious detail-orientated problem solver with outstanding work ethics and the ability to plan and prepare in an evolving business. In addition, should be a highly motivated, organized individual who is a team player that thrives in a small dynamic setting and is used to own responsibility for and lead day-to-day operations. The role as COO / Head of Compliance is to have to overall admin, compliance and staffing responsibility for the subsidiary as well as being the link between VCGIM and Volvo Car Corporation.

The position carry most of its weight towards ensuring business continuity, leading VCGIMs day-to-day operations, compliance, specific corporate financial/business administration and undertakings across a wide range of the business within VCGIM and its service providers. Further, the role has the functionality of as Head of Compliance, meaning that the right candidate has an extensive background within compliance and is used to act as such in a fast paced and dynamic setting. The right candidate also has a proven track record in management and admin, to lead and motivate a team, the skillset to function as a bridge between parent and subsidiary, excellent presentation skills and a broad knowledge of rules and regulations.

The role will primarily be based in Gothenburg, Sweden while extensive business travel in Sweden and abroad will be required.
  • Overall responsibility for leading the day-to-day operations at VCGIM.
  • Primary contact point between Volvo Car Corporation and VCGIM.
  • Overall responsibility for business admin and staffing responsibility for 3 - 5 team members.
  • Reporting the financial accounting and analytics to the Board of Directors.
  • To continuously report, the risks that may arise because of insufficient compliance and help identify and assess such compliance risks.
  • Support and manage compliance requirements as well as the internal/external audit process.
  • Overall adherence to FSA regulation.
Sökandes profil
  • B.Sc. (preferably Master) degree in Law and/or Finance with extensive knowledge in compliance.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a similar position or from a law firm.
  • Ability to inspire and develop a team of highly talented individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills in Swedish and English.
  • Analytical, pragmatic, flexible and non-prestigious.
  • Ability to work and be comfortable in a dynamic environment under continuous development.
  • Good sense of humour, entrepreneurial spirit and passion for teamwork.
  • Ability to focus under stress with tight deadlines.
  • Social, a good communicator and good at building relationships.
