Position Description

For a daughter company in Sweden we are currently seeking in course of a succession plan an entrepreneurial leader with strong can-do mentality as General Manager.
To shape and foster the position in this competitive market he/she should provide a profound knowledge about the related business and has as well solid experiences in operations under cGMP regulations. The site with approx. 50 employees located in Central Sweden has an established network of customers mainly in Europe and North America that needs to be expanded in the coming years. A tight cooperation with the companies global sales force and the continuous development and further implementation of a sales strategy concerning the access to new and adjacent markets, diversification and market positioning is key to success.

Main tasks:
  • Directs, coordinates and manages the day-to-day business in operations, development and sales-support at the local site together with a young and highly motivated management team
  • Strong focus on the continuous improvement of all process steps in the value stream from quotation and order to delivery
  • Expresses requirements concerning an adapted sales strategy and conducting the implementation together with the sales organization
  • Develop and implement business plans in line with the global sales organization and work on strategic development plans for the site according to direction of the corporate group
  • Maintain relationship with Key customers
  • Financial responsibility for an expense budget of 3 Mio $, achievement of forecast and EBIT goals
  • Representative of the company at the local site and ensure the compliance according all legal requirements and policies
  • Responsibility of the further roll-out and adaption of the KPI system according to global standards
  • Ambassador of the site-wide LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure effective communication throughout the entire site and providing vision and direction with Direct Reports

Position Requirements
  • Scientific degree in life sciences or engineering
  • Proven successful leadership, team management and budget experience
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in a comparable position in Operations
  • Proven knowledge of the medical diagnostic and/or oligonucleotides business
  • International work experience is highly valued
  • Fluent in Swedish and English; additional language desirable
