AAK Personal Care is looking for an experienced and creative Customer Innovation and Technical Support Manger, reporting into the Customer Innovation and Technical Support team. AAK Personal Care markets and sells plant derived emollients and functional ingredients for the global cosmetic and personal care industry.

The main role of the Customer Innovation and Technical Support Manager (CIM) is to execute application, formulations- & other technical projects based on identified market and/or customer opportunities and needs. The CIM acts as a technical solution provider in dialogue with distributors and customers at appointed markets, contributing to creating and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires that the CIM is a specialist in PC products, their features, benefits and applications. The CIM also contributes actively to the AAK Academies and Technical seminars.

About the position
Customer Innovation & Technical Support Manager responsibilities on a daily basis:

Application development and formulation management:
  • Solves formulation issues and proposes solutions to customers' formulation challenges
  • Participates in dialogue with customers and distributors as a recognized application specialist
  • Monitors formulation trends and converts them to opportunities for AAK to stimulate growth
  • Creates inspirational formulations for our marketing activities
  • Drives claims substantiation initiatives through external partners to support our global sales, marketing and innovation processes
  • Maintains and develops appropriate laboratory facilities
  • Champions the internal matrix structure to build strong relations with internal stakeholders
Customer innovation/co-development:
  • Co–responsible with sales managers to develop business with appointed distributors & direct customers (global/local)
  • Responsible for identifying, interpreting and sharing new customer needs with CI, Product/Technology/Development team and Marketing teams
  • Responsible for proactively identifying technical needs, solutions and value propositions, leading to new sales and defending present sales, by participating in customer meetings and in fairs /exhibitions/conferences/academies.
Technical Support:
  • Technical contact point for sales managers, customers and distributors incl. trouble shooting, complains and claims, issue management and other technical questions.
The position is based in Malmö, Sweden, or in a home office. You will report to our Director Customer Innovation and Technical Support, Personal Care. The position requires the ability to travel 30-60 days per year, mainly in Europe.

Who are you?
To be successful in this role you have a university degree (BSc, MSc, PhD) in chemistry, cosmetic science, pharmaceutical science or similar. You have several years of professional experience from the cosmetics and personal care industry or pharma industry, in formulation, product development and innovation or new technology implementation. Previous experience from technical support functions and business development being a bonus. You have good communication skills, both oral and written. Fluency in English is a must, with additional linguistic capabilities being prerequisite (French).
