SCANIA CV AB · Publicerad 13 sept 2019

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Electrifying the regional and long haulage segment is challenging, but nevertheless very important in our quest for sustainable transport solutions. Electric Road System, where the vehicle picks up electric charge dynamically, while driving along the road, is one option with promising results that can be part of the complete charging portfolio.

Several pilot projects in recent years have proven the effectiveness of the technology. The next important steps in the mission to make electric road systems a reality is to create the momentum for the build out of the infrastructure, set up the business model and roles to generate a driving force, and also secure the right position in the value chain for Scania.

This involves close collaboration with road authorities and politicians, as well as to find and develop the right partnerships. Additionally, we are looking for the first prospects for commercialization and to support and coordinate with our organization Scania both in the market and product development.
