Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

As Digital is one of the key drivers in the ecosystem of logistics and sustainable transport solutions Scania in 2017 established a strategic central function with the aim of accelerating digitalization across Scania. Digital transformation is today engaging all parts of Scania’s business, from Product Development, Order to delivery to Sales & Service delivery. The central function is headed by Chief Digital Officer Mikael Cato, reporting to CEO Henrik Henriksson.

The digitalisation efforts are managed and executed cross functionally through
  • CEO and Executive Board with integrated digital governance aiming at speed and impact with both here and now objects as well as targets set in the 2025 strategy
  • Business CDOs working integrated in each of the functions management teams
  • A Digital officer network incl. their local digital offices, led by business representatives
  • A central team of strategic, digital and leadership capabilities (the Digital Office)
Key responsibility areas for the Digital office going forward are
  • To Inspire, challenge and work jointly with key decision makers to set the Digital direction for Scania and ensure the Digital transformation gets embedded and driven throughout the business
  • Also to Build select Digital capabilities and in those drive step change in maturity across the organization
What you will do

As one of two Digital Capability Directors in the central team the person we are searching will fill a critical role in establishing the fundamentals - building select Digital capabilities and in those drive step change in maturity across the organization.
  • Strategic planning for strengthening Customer Experience and Digital Marketing capabilities at scale at Scania
  • Lead and partially recruit a group of Customer Experience and Digital Marketing professionals (e.g. CX-strategist, Senior service designers, measurement specialist, digital marketing specialist/strategist, web analyst, data analyst)
  • Keep up to date on related trends and technology and actively share the knowledge across Scania organisation
  • Develop CX and Digital marketing related assets and tools (e.g. customer insights, methodologies for working with customer research and journey mapping, measuring CX and Digital marketing efforts, growth marketing / lead generation methods) and secure availability of these for the use of Scania business functions
  • Support Digital Office team members and leaders at Scania in digital strategy development from the capability point of view - how CX and digital marketing contribute to the overall digitalisation of Scania
  • Support Scania functions in strengthening their specific customer experience and digital marketing capabilities by identifying gaps (across dimensions organisational set-up, competence, measurement and digital tools) and helping to fulfil them
  • Take part in steering critical programs/projects in steering group contexts
Your profile

You have a Master’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of experience working with digital business transformation with relevant industry experience

You have extensive experience of Customer Experience as a management practice and/or of Digital Marketing

Since you are an inspirational leader and have a natural way of bringing out the best in teams and individuals You also bring a proven experience and ability to build and develop lasting relationships to drive change.

You bring deep knowledge and experience in working long term with strengthening capability development and creating lasting results.

You bring an understanding of and also follow the digital trends impacting the automotive industry and the ecosystem of transport and logistics.
