Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Next year some of our current Buyers will take on new challenges in purchasing and therefore we are looking for new employees to fill their positions.
Being a purchaser at Scania involves coordination and cooperation with our purchasing colleagues at other Scania sites in the world, as well as within the VW Group, to ensure that we capture synergies in every sourcing decision. The role involves daily contacts both with suppliers, but also with other functions at Scania who are using the products and services that we procure. The office is located in Södertälje, but the position may also require some travel to Scania’s and VW Group’s various units and suppliers around the world.
We are looking for You who are a graduate student or have a couple of years of work experience. You manage technical question, but have a great interest to convert this into commercial negotiations and thrives to learn how to do business.
Your profile
To succeed you need to be structured, analytical, and curious with a willingness to learn. You are communicative and dare to challenge yourself, our current way of working and the supplier base. You should be able to express yourself fluently in both spoken and written English and Swedish. You probably have a university degree in a technical or economic field. You could also have a vocational education and some experience from procurement/purchasing.
We offer an interesting and challenging job where there is plenty of scope for new ideas. Our corporate culture is characterised by openness, diversity and respect for the individual. Employees are our most important resource, so we invest in training our employees and giving them the opportunity to broaden their skills in order to be able to grow with us.
