The EIA Engineering department (Electrification,
Instrumentation & Automation) in Skellefteå is responsible for the EIA design in our assignments aimed at the mining, energy and smelting industry. The assignments vary a lot, ranging from pure consultancy to delivery of complete turnkey facilities. Our customers are found locally as well as globally. In addition, the department assists in the development of the products and technologies that Skellefteå office is responsible for and sells to all corners of the world.

The main tasks for the EIA discipline is to provide the electrical, instrumention and automation design to the processing plants to be constructed. The tasks ranges from everything from system design, component selection, cable routing, calculation, programming (DCS-system) and delivery and commissioning of supplied equipment. It involves close cooperation with other disciplines in order for the plant to function as good as possible from the construction, operating, energy and maintenance perspective.

This entails a varied environment with a lot of teamwork, direct customer contact and opportunities for foreign work to varying degrees.

We are looking for a Chief Engineer - to our EIA department (Electrification, Instrumentation & Automation) which is a part of Outotec Delivery Center, Skellefteå

As Chief Engineer - Electrification, Instrumentation & Automation, you will:
  • Lead EIA discipline team in implementation projects (international and local service projects).
  • Support Marketing in sales projects
  • Be responsible for budget & resource requirements in implementation projects (EIA part)
  • Ensure technical quality of design work
  • Participate in R&D activities in hosted Product Lines
  • Follow-up and inspect supply & manufacturing of equipment
  • Supervise erection activities at site
  • Participate in commissioning work
To succeed, you will need:
  • B. Sc or M. Sc in engineering or similar experience from engineering work
  • Several years of experience in detailed electrical/instrumentation engineering
  • Leadership skills and to favour team work
  • Pro-active and self-driven working attitude
  • Technology oriented mindset with structured working style
  • Fluent spoken and written communication skills in Swedish and English
  • Willingness to travel to workshops and site partly outside of Europe
Other success factors:
Knowledge in applicable contract forms
Experience from construction supervision/management
Experience from cost estimation in proposal work
Experience from Electric CAD-systems
