The team members of the Exterior team are working to secure a supplier base for current demands as well as securing the future challenges. We are working in an international environment and collaborating with our colleagues in the Volkswagen and Traton group.

In this role as a Senior Sourcing manager you will be responsible for the tyres and wheel fitting segment, which has a spend of 110 M€ and has a major impact on our results. You will be responsible for the supplier base, setting the material group strategies and aligning the strategies cross-functionally and within the Traton group ensuring technology, quality, delivery and cost with a focus on sustainability. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and continuously manage potentials and risks within the supplier base. You will also work in close collaboration with our cross-functions, such as R&D, logistics and sales/marketing.

You will be part of a lead buying concept within the Traton group, with a high level focus on developing cross-brand sourcing and supplier strategies as well as performing joint sourcing and negotiation activities to capture synergies across the brands. You are also responsible for creating business plan activities and deliver on those ensuring that we reach our targets for the team and department.

As part of your job description you will also work with cases within the product cost optimization program as well as potentially delivery disturbances and other kinds of deviations. At Scania we always strive for continuous improvements and this will also be expected from you in your role as a Senior Sourcing manager.

Your profile

You are a person with great commercial interest and a passion for doing business. You have a strong ability to develop a broad network and dare to challenge current ways of working in order to achieve better results. You understand organization politics and can navigate through this taking different stake holders’ opinions into account while securing progress.

You are self-driven and can motivate yourself with persistence over time. You act with a sense of integrity and professionalism and feel comfortable interacting with different levels of the organization and adapting the communication appropriately. In addition, you have high analytical skills, understand complex situations and take appropriate actions.

We expect you to have an academic degree in industrial engineering, business or similar. We also expect you to have several years of experience from purchasing, with acknowledged good results and be able to work both independently and within the team. Additionally, we look for someone who wants to grow and stay in the role for a number of years.

My name is Linda Ström and I have been in different management positions within Scania the last 5 years. I really enjoy working at Scania and especially in this role in an truly international environment and where I can combine my commercial and industrial interest. As a manager, I believe that the people are our greatest assets. I get motivated by developing the team and the team members, as well as finding the individual potentials.
