The Financial Services Cloud Foundation Services Practice is a globally distributed 2500+ people organization, which focuses on helping our Financial Services clients deliver new technology capabilities leveraging cloud native services and cloud platforms to enable business agility.

In this context banks and insurance companies are adopting the technology strategies that other industries have led with, namely Agile DevOps delivery models, cloud native services, real time data and event networks and cloud-based platforms to transform the way technology is delivered.
Capgemini has developed a broad range of services within our CFS practice, by drawing on our cross-industry experience, to drive technology services transformation at our Financial Services clients. We deliver new technology services and capabilities to some of the world's largest banks and insurance companies, enabling them to bring new products and services to market at pace and at lower cost, whilst continuing to comply with regulatory constraints.
Our clients and business partners are not only Banks and Insurance companies entering in the Digital Era, they are also FinTech firms combining mobile and blockchain technologies to build future internet based financial ecosystems.

As a CFS Lead Engineer, you have a key role in leading the transformation of technology services at our customers, defining and realizing solutions in an agile model. In consultation with technology and business, you determine the needs and translate this to the right solution and then lead the delivery.

This could include:
  • Migration of existing applications and services to public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Architecture transformation to disaggregate monolithic platforms into cloud native services, using microservices, APIs or patterns such as CQRS
  • Implementing new delivery models based on Agile-DevOps
  • Defining new IT operating models to ensure benefits from cloud adoption are realized.
Technical skills:
  • Designing and building cloud native solutions for large or small organizations, financial services knowledge is not essential as we recognize that the leaders in this area are from other industries
  • Migration of applications to public cloud services, namely AWS, Azure GCP
  • Design and implementation of microservices architectures and use of APIs and event networks and patterns such as CQRS
  • Experience of the design and implementation of cloud operating models
  • Ability to operate hands on with teams of developers
  • Translates business requirements into technical details relevant to web application
  • Familiarity with JS frameworks such as AngularJS, JQuery
  • Deep and extensive knowledge of JavaScript and the web development ecosystem (bootstrap, SASS)
  • Experience with server-side technologies & languages such as Node.js, Bower, Gulp/Grunt
  • F/E Unit test framework: Jasmine, Protractor
  • B/E Unit test framework: JUnit & Mockito
  • Experience with Spring Boot or other API frameworks
  • Experience in design and engineering of REST/SOAP based web services
  • Should have experience utilizing best practices and have worked with industry standard design patterns
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 Security Rules
  • Proficient understanding of Code version tool like Git/ Bitbucket and SVN
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and tools such as Maven and Jenkins
  • Experience of working on cloud platforms particularly AWS, Azure or GCP
Soft skills and Background:
  • Good communicator with business and IT stakeholders
  • Independent, communicative, self-starting, resourceful, driven and possess empathy
  • Comfortable working in a mixed client and Capgemini environment
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Bachelor or academic background preferred (or equivalent experience) - preferably in computer science
  • Quick learner who likes to tackle problems and is a creative thinker
