Drive and lead a business oriented controlling function for Global IT/GIS

Husqvarna Group and the IT Group function 'Group Information Services' (GIS) is responsible for overseeing the Group's IT strategy, systems and infrastructure.

Husqvarna Group and the IT Group function ‘Group Information Services’ (GIS) is responsible for overseeing the Group’s IT strategy, systems and infrastructure. Husqvarna Group are now searching for a Vice President - Head of Controlling GIS with the mission to lead and develop the finance and controlling function within GIS, in close cooperation with GIS Functions and Group and Divisional Finance and Controlling.

Through the new strategy 2025, Husqvarna Group will continue to create great customer experiences and innovate for the future. By expanding their offering in services and solutions, Husqvarna Group aims to move closer to end-users and their experiences. One key element in this journey is the Group IT development and digital development, both from an internal and from an external market perspective.

GIS provides IT services and solutions including IT security, IT business development and projects, as well as supports and collaborates with business stakeholders within the three divisions. GIS handle a budget of around 1300MSEK, and the organization consists of around 140 persons. Most of the GIS organization is located in Huskvarna (Sweden), Charlotte (USA) and Ulm (Germany). One key challenge for the coming years is to drive and improve the GIS support regarding business controlling, efficiency and cost transparency.

The VP - Head of Controlling is expected to lead the controlling function (a team of 4 people) in a proactive business-oriented way, to support the GIS development and in line with the Group strategy and division needs. As VP - Head of Controlling you have a direct oversight of GIS performance and have the overall responsibility for Cost and Process compliance & development, Project and Program controlling, and being the Service Provider that turns Data into Insights.

Key objectives:
  • Contribute and support the GIS Strategy initiatives and take an active role in the GIS management team.
  • Drive and develop a proactive Business controlling function that support both GIS and the three divisions.
  • Drive development of a transparent forecasting and budget process for GIS.
  • Secure cost efficiency for GIS - Both operational financial reporting and project follow ups.
  • Ensure correct financial accounting. Develop and automate the processes for a more efficient way of working.
  • Monthly Financials follow up to ensure cost transparency and continuously cost savings.
  • Develop the Controlling team and define a clear plan with both long-term and short-term goals and expectations. Secure the right capabilities and knowledge within the team and develop a strong team with high engagement.
The VP - Head of Controlling is part of the GIS Management Team and reports direct to the Senior Vice President for GIS - Group CIO. The position is based in Sweden, preferably close to Huskvarna, but Stockholm or Gothenburg/Jonsered is also an option. GIS are well developed to a virtual way of working, but traveling will be needed, especially to Huskvarna with regular trips if you are located elsewhere.

We believe that you hold minimum a bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance, or similar relevant education/experience with an in-depth knowledge about operational, budget and forecasting together with an accounting knowledge. You have at least 8-10 years of experience in an operational and finance controlling position, together with several years of leadership experience. Experience from IT related controlling and project controlling is an advantage. We see that you have experience from a larger international organization with a more complex matrix-organization. Fluency in English is a requirement, and knowledge of Swedish and/or German is considered a plus.

The successful candidate needs to be analytical, process oriented and have a structured way of working. It’s a key to have a strong stakeholder management ability and a strong understanding and ability to drive development within a matrix and project environment. You have the ability and willingness to work both strategically as well as hands-on and you have strong influencing and communication skills. it’s important to have a strong interpersonal ability, be a good team player and have an interest in other people's knowledge.
