We are looking for a Software Engineer with SEO experience. You will work with software development in our teams and actively share your SEO knowledge with the rest of the Aftonbladet Brand Team, as well as help shape our culture.

You will work with Aftonbladet, Sweden's biggest news source, engaging around 4 million people on a daily basis. The Aftonbladet mission is: "Aftonbladet aims to make Sweden a little bit better, the world a little more understandable and life a little bit easier ".

Our organisation, Schibsted News Media, has 300+ experts in product management, UX and technology. We build new digital products and technical platforms for Schibsted News Media and Next, enabling independent journalism to thrive with products people love.

Who you are

You are an experienced hands-on engineer with 4+ years of professional experience, who can motivate others as well as yourself to deliver on our mission
You have a positive, team-oriented behavior and you enjoy collaboration
You love to solve complex development problems and produce quality code

What you will be working with

Help work on and improve our SEO-related initiatives
Make sure your expertise in SEO becomes part of our whole teams' expertise
Continuous development of new features to push Aftonbladet's products to the next level

As a member of the team, you will be part of a high speed, inclusive and fun environment where openness, collaboration, innovation and passion is key. You will work with talented people, and will be making an impact on how journalism is consumed as well as shaping the digital news media business of tomorrow. Today, this is done using JavaScript, React, Node.js, but as an experienced engineer you know that new tech-stacks and methods can arrive and change any time.

We support each other sharing knowledge in a creative environment and what we are looking for in this position is someone who can tell us how to optimize our tech stack for SEO. You know what we are talking about, and we are eager to learn how to get SEO-thinking more into our daily work, which we need you to help us with.

We run internal tech forums, show & tell sessions and other such initiatives and we would like you to take part in doing that even more.

Om företaget

Product & Tech is responsible for product development in News Media. The unit consists of product managers, software engineers, UX experts, and user researchers. A big part of our work is developing joint technology platforms for Schibsted's news brands. These include platforms for content production and distribution, digital subscriptions, and advertising. Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
