Job Description and Responsibilities:
We seek a motivated hands-on Senior Analytical Chemist, Team Leader for our labs in Copenhagen.
  • You will supervise a team of about 4 scientists
  • You will be in charge of implementing LC-UV, LC-MS and GC-MS quantitative and qualitative methodologies (instrumental part, data processing and interpretation) in order to support Evolva running projects.
  • You will ensure smooth operations of the group and you are expected to identify, propose and implement further optimizations of current workflows.
  • You will interact with the Project Leaders and scientists in charge of strain engineering and fermentation and you will have the responsibility of providing state-of-the-art analytical chemistry support to the project teams in a fast and efficient manner.
  • You will pro-actively propose new approaches to tackle analytical challenges i.e. for the detection of difficult compounds, identifying unknown metabolites and, in general, how to best support strain engineering activities.
  • You might interact with external partners for Analytical Chemistry related tasks (i.e. method transfer, cross-validation, troubleshooting, etc.).
Maintenance and troubleshooting of the instruments is part of your daily work.

Ideal Candidate Possesses:
  • MSc. or PhD in analytical chemistry or related disciplines.
  • 10+ years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Solid technical experience in HPLC/UPLC-MS and/or GC-MS.
  • Solid experience in development and validation of quantitative methodologies.
  • Experience in analysis of yeast or other microbial metabolites is an advantage.
  • Experience in strain engineering analytical support is an advantage.
  • Excellent English (oral and written).
As a person, you are enthusiastic, resourceful, flexible and hard-working and have a genuine interest in carrying out high quality research & development and learning new competencies. You enjoy problem solving and can cope with rapid changes in priorities. You have good interpersonal and communication skills.
